Prettiest dresses on Pinterest

Good morning, Everyone! If you read my blog on regular basis, you know how I feel about little black dresses. One of my Holiday staples, I love the fact that you can style LBD in an infinite number of ways. Take today's outfit for example, I wanted to create a very polished, evening look so, I decided to take a classic approach, and paired my LBD with a sparkly clutch and statement jewelry. Now, when it comes to styling an evening look, jewelry is definitely something I pay attention to the most. And for me, nothing says evening quite like a pair of statement earrings.

The ones I am wearing in this post, are my absolute favorite pair at the moment! A big fan of Kendra Scott jewelry in general, I spotted them a few weeks ago and simply couldn't resist. Can you blame me?:) Bold, beautiful and stylish I think, they are an epitome of luxury. Pretty much a perfect statement piece, to add drama to any evening look! How about you guys, what is your favorite way of styling a little black dress?

Pretty Floral

Skirt & Top by Zara, Christian Louboutin Pumps & Chanel Boy Bag

Hello gorgeous people, how are you? I hope everything is well and you are enjoying your fabulous weekend.

I have had a long week so far. From endless events, meetings, hospital appointments to photo-shoots and training for the San Francisco half marathon with Nike.. I am not lying when I say, I have not done any sort of work out since the last marathon, which was back in November last year. You can just imagine how I am feeling right now.

But hey, any challenge is good right?

Cozy Basics

J.Crew Collection turtleneck // Rich & Skinny jeans c/o (similar) Schutz heels (more options below) // YSL bag A cashmere turtleneck with boyfriend jeans is such a cozy, classic combo. Add a fun pair of heels to the mix and you’re ready for brunch with the girls and a day of shopping. I’ve been taking major advantage of the winter sales that are going on this week. Don’t miss out! Stuart Weitzman just marked down the 5050 boots, Tibi just marked down this gorgeous lace dress and this peplum top, and Shopbop just added a ton of new items to their sale section.

Pumpkin Spice

H and M sweater, [similar faux leather shorts], GUESS Dandra boots, Rebecca Minkoff bag, Kenneth Cole earrings [similar], Prada sunglasses

October is the very only month in the entire year that I will wear orange and black together. It just screams Halloween! But there is something about this beautiful glowing orange sweater that I just couldn't resist and I am excited to wear this sweater with denim later on during the winter months.

I've started wearing earrings for the first time in years. This is not because I suddenly got my ears pierced or I found a special metal/metal coating. (I got my ears pierced around 15 years ago and they have never closed. As for anything that goes through the piercing, my ear simply cannot stand it.) It is because I finally realized I can just buy any earrings that catch my eye and then convert them into clip-ons! It's pretty easy and all you need are needle nose pliers, epoxy 330 glue, foam, toothpicks, clip-ons and earrings.

As for these boots, I did think they looked better on my sister who has wider legs which filled out the boot better. Regardless, I really like how the heel is at a comfortable height and they do stay up like a proper thigh boot should. Also don't forget to enter the GUESS sweepstakes on Instagram by tagging your photo with #BootieShot and #PosttoEnter to win a weeks worth of GUESS shoes!

Office-Ready

Sheinside blazer, White House/Black Market leopard shirt and earrings, Francescas pants [similar], Prada Saffiano Lux bag, Steve Madden heels [similar] A little office ready inspiration for Monday :) Seriously in love with my new silk leopard blouse and earrings from my first White House/Black Market mini haul. I think it is part of their newest collection. Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Sarena

BB Dakota faux fur vest, HM top and denim, Amrita Singh necklace, Ivanka Trump Sarena boots, Coach bag [similar] I felt like going for a cozy look since I planned to be out in the evening. My statement necklace by Amrita Singh really steals the show but of course the faux fur and suede OTK (over the knee) boots pull it all together. In fact, faux fur vests are so versatile that I've probably been wearing this one (off the blog) a little too much. But that is most definitely a good thing :).

Fall Elements

Finally, a fall look. And unfortunately, still no fall weather. As you can probably tell I walked in circles to shoot this so you could really see a lot more angles than we typically go for :) I personally love the color combo but more than anything it's the cut that matters here.

These booties add a lot of edginess while the skirt keeps it feminine and the shirt gives a cozy feel. (It is actually the coziest shirt I have ever felt.) I brought along a tweed jacket too but it is still not cold enough for that! By the way — the Naturebox giveaway is ending tonight and GUESS.com is giving away a week's worth of shoes.

PASTELS IN FALL

Pink Coat (obsessed!- runs big wearing size XS - also loving this one) // Powder Blue Sweater (similar blue sweater here & in love with this cable-knit one) // Forever 21 Denim (old similar here) // Pink Patent Heels
ACCESSORIES.
Blue Bag // Gold Chain Watch // Sunglasses // Gold Rings (40% off code: SERIOUS40)

The soft pink tones of spring and summer have now made their way into fall and winter. but designers have strayed from the typical jewel-toned and neutral palettes that used to dominate fall fashion by incorporating soft tones into their collections. By taking a few cues from their designs, we can flawlessly rock these soft, feminine colors year-round.

o   Transforming with texture: Bring your fall look together by incorporating thicker textures into your ensemble. This season is full of great pastel pieces in heavier fabrics, like this coat. To fuse a fall-vibe into softer shades with a lighter material, pair with heavier knits or other textures typical of fall. Incorporating a fall nail color is another great way to give your look an autumn feel.
o   Neutrals are always in season: You can never go wrong by pairing a pastel with a neutral. Consider staples, like nudes, camels, greys and blacks. For advanced styling, mix popular jewel tones into your outfit or bring soft tones into fall from head to toe by rocking a monochromatic look.

FALL PONCHO

DETAILS.
Poncho (size small - on sale - extra 20% off) // Navy Top (on sale - extra 20% off) // Gold Chain Watch  // Khaki Leggings // Tory Burch Boots // Rings // Sunglasses // Michael Kors Handbag

I love the classic color combination of navy, cognac, and gold. Something about the combo seems timeless and sophisticated.  I've been anxious to get a poncho for Fall. I was immediately drawn to the detailing on this one with the faux leather pockets and gold zippers on the side.

Faux-Leather-Pocket Cardigan
Gold Chain Watch
Chunky Knit Cowl-Neck Sweater
Michael Kors Jet Set Crossbody
Michael Kors Selma Medium Satchel
Navy Michael Kors Hamilton Saffiano Leather Tote
Buckle Bangle Bracelet
Deep Red Lip Lacquer
Michael Kors Gold and Black Watch

Neutral Work Wardrobe

I've had a lot of meetings the last couple weeks at my other job, so it has been a more dressy couple weeks than usual. I like to add a subtle color against the typical white, black, and navy work ensemble. These pencil skirtsare an easy way to add that detail (see the neon pink one I wore ).

I'm so excited about these white embossed pumps. I've been looking for a white pump that has a little more shizam, and the subtle texture on these is perfect. I've found one of the keys to wearing multiple pieces of white is mixing textures.

Current Obsession: EMU Australia

You've probably seen EMU Australia's ubiquitous shearling-lined boots on every college girl and snow bunny since the early '90s, however, before you categorize them as shoes for "around the house" only, might I suggest you take a minute to explore the brand's new offerings.

To commemorate its 20th anniversary, EMU has undergone a major style change. This season, it's introduced new lines of fashion boots to meet the needs of the modern woman on the go. In addition to introducing new ankle booties and leather boots, the brand has completely revamped its classic shearling boots, making them lighter and more streamlined and adding stylish detailing.

I got to see the collection up close and personal at a recent event and was impressed at the distinctly modern direction the brand has taken. Of the new styles, my favorites are the Heysen ankle bootie ($179) and the Allira wedge boot ($225). Of course, there are still ultra-cozy slippers ($69) and new waterproof versions ($149–$199) of the classic shearling boot that will resist those nasty salt and water stains you pick up each winter.

I love to see a brand successfully adjust to the times and EMU Australia is making that tough but rewarding transition.

Rules to Wearing the Matchy-Matchy Look

Matching separates have been called a lot bad things over the years, from old-fashioned to tacky and costumey, but in the past year they’ve transitioned to one of the hottest runway looks.

Featured in many Fall 2014 and resort 2015 collections, including Gucci and Ralph Lauren, matching separates are here to stay. Take a look at the most important matchy-matchy style rules, that can help you navigate this trend while keeping it stylish and chic.

1. Stick to Just Two Separates

Once you accept that matching separates can work as part of any type of look, from elegant to casual, it’s important to rein it in. Adding a third matching item to your two separates is definitely taking it too far, and pushing it in costumey territory. You have to be particularly careful about how you style your look if the two separates make up your entire look (not counting accessories).

2. Use Neutrals to Create Balance

If wearing a head to toe color or print feels like too much, one of the most useful matchy-matchy style rules is to use a simple neutral to balance out your look. Whether you’re going to match a solid color or a print, make sure that your neutrals don’t include too much texture. A knit could easily make the whole look too busy.

3. Don’t Go Too Far with Accessories

A clear way to make your look over the top is to overpower it with flashy accessories. When you’re wearing matching separates look for a bag and shoes that stand out without competing too much for attention with your outfit. The same principle goes for jewelry, layered chunky necklaces might end up proving too much for a matchy-matchy look, but a cocktail ring and smaller earrings could definitely work.

4. Avoid Matching Your Polish Color to Your Outfit

One of the most important matchy-matchy style rules is to stick to just your separates. Once you start matching things like shoes or nail polish to your outfit, you’re definitely stepping outside of the trend and risk looking like you’re wearing a costume.

Matchy Matchy Lips And Nails

5. If You Match Makeup and Nails, Forget the Matchy-Matchy Outfit

One of the coolest beauty looks for Fall 2014 is pairing silver eyeshadow with gunmetal nails. Seen on the runway during the Vera Wang show, this detail is already pretty matchy-matchy, so it might not be the best fit with matching separates, whether you’re headed to the office or a party. Doubling up on the matching may work on the runway, but it’s too risky for the street.

Matchy Matchy Black And White Stripes

6. Choose Prints Carefully

The matchy-matchy style rules are especially important when you’re getting printed separates. Even if you style it perfectly, remember to pick a print that works for you. Smaller prints can help achieve a slimming effect, while larger and bulkier prints might be a bad idea if they draw attention to your waist or hips in a less than flattering way. Don’t forget what works for your body type when you try this trend.

7. Don’t Be Afraid to Rock a Bold Lip

A bold red lip helps most matchy-matchy looks pop, but if you’re going for something a bit more subtle, you can experiment with different shades that are among the hottest Fall 2014 makeup color trends. Plum lips can also work wonders for fall, while a high-shine bronze is equally trendy, but less office appropriate.

8. Go Subtle with Animal Prints

If you’re thinking of rocking the trend with an animal print, you’ll have to be extra careful when it comes to the rest of the matchy-matchy style rules. A natural animal print can definitely prove too much, so try a version in softer neutrals or bolder shades that skew more abstract.

9. Bring Outerwear into the Mix

As seen on the runway during the Burberry Fall 2014 show, matching coats and scarves are another matchy-matchy option. If the separates feel too bold, then try the trend with outerwear, or simply with a matching scarf.

10. Avoid a Matchy-Matchy Effect with Your Date

While Kim and Kanye can usually pull it off, one of the most obvious matchy-matchy style rules is to never try to cram both matching separates and pieces that match your partner in the same look. Unless it’s Halloween, it’s too over the top.
